What's involved?
​
Are you a user of CAD technology, seeking to monitor or develop worksite projects from your desk? With Drone Photogrammetry’s CAD Capture service, we can quickly digitise real world locations so they integrate seamlessly with industry-standard CAD technology.
Firstly, we need an outline of the site(s) that you would like to have captured. This can be as simple as a digital photo of a map with the site(s) outlined in ink, or an outline traced on a screenshot on a mobile device, or a PDF map, or we’re more than happy to deal with GIS polygon shapefiles and directories. We’ll then check the site(s) for any legal or safety concerns and assess whether or not they can be flown safely. 95% of the time there are no such issues.
The amount of time that it’ll take to gather the imagery will depend entirely upon the size of the site, likely ranging from one 15-minute flight to two 30-minute flights. We can therefore cover up to six roughly approximal small sites in one day (with 20-30 minutes’ travel time between), or two roughly approximal large sites. Prices can be negotiated for even larger projects that will take more than one day’s flying, but rest assured no project is too big!

Drone imagery and footage have indeed revolutionised site inspections and monitoring. Digital points cloud modelling, however, takes things a great deal further with truly unrestricted navigation around your site and an ability to revisit the imagery at any time from fresh new angles.
​
Depending on the size of the site, we can generate ultra-high resolution digital points clouds, attaining sub-cm/pixel resolutions for the smallest sites (a building the size of a small church or theatre, for example, or a small parcel of land). This allows you to conduct very detailed preliminary assessments from any imaginable angle before you act on the results. We also classify the points cloud, grouping points into structures, foliage, ground etc. for at-a-glance monitoring of developments.

Using the points cloud, we generate a textured mesh of your site for you to import into your preferred CAD software. Reverse engineer from a digital model to visualise and plan design alterations, or conduct survey-grade 2D and volumetric measurements.
We can also arrange to visit a site on a monthly or annual basis, for the purposes of generating a series of models to create a digital record of your site’s progress. This can also be useful for creating a digital archive of your completed projects, which can then be integrated effectively into an interactive, digital online portfolio.

Digital Surface (DSM) and Terrain (DTM) Models for at-a-glance elevation data.
During the photogrammetry process, we also generate elevation data for the site. Essential for better understanding the lay of the land, elevation data at such a granular level can unlock agricultural and archaeological secrets: like optimum drainage routes and previously undiscovered areas of archaeological intrigue.
We present this elevation data using a typical topographical colour scheme, composited over a hill-shade elevation profile for at-a-glance clarity. We also include the upper, lower and median elevations of the area on the accompanying legend.
Delivery format: 1,000+dpi JPEG. Digital download via link. Models are presented layered over a topographical base-map, complete with legend, scale and North arrow.

FOR NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE...
We can also offer to capture aerial images and footage of the site(s) while we’re there, whether it be for promotional or informative purposes. Adept at both photography and video editing, we’ll follow your instructions to capture the angles you need.

PRICING

The rate for this package is £650 per day’s flying.
​
One day’s flying involves a maximum of 3 small sites close by to each other, or 1 large site. Prices can be negotiated for even larger projects.
